With more than 30 years of experience treating, coaching and playing alongside his patients, Dr. Toronto is one of the most knowledgeable sports medicine specialists in the state of Utah. He received his medical degree from the University of Utah.
He was the medical director of long track speed skating for the 2011 World Cup and a venue physician for Olympic Snowboarding in 2002. He has also served as a team physician for several professional and collegiate athletic teams, including the University of Utah football and baseball teams.
In addition to caring for professional and collegiate athletes, Dr. Toronto has also worked with athletes on high school and recreational levels. He has served as a medical advisor for many club sports including gymnastics, running and soccer, and has directed several high school sports medicine programs throughout the state. He has been a frequent speaker at sports medicine conferences across the country, newspaper columnist and guest sports medicine expert in videos and on radio.
Whether for the professional athlete or the recreational adventurer, Dr. Toronto offers the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to provide care for athletes of all ages, abilities and activity levels across a variety of sports. His passion is returning athletes to the playing field at whatever level they participate. He is a former collegiate baseball player, avid backcountry skier, and proud husband and father of five children.
